Module GSM GPRS SIM800A (Version upgrade of SIM900A)

The GSM GPRS SIM800A module (an upgraded version of SIM900A) has built-in impulse and buffer ic designed for applications that require high reliability and stability.

GSM GPRS SIM800A module (upgraded version of SIM900A) integrating pulse source and buffer ic is compactly designed but still retains the necessary elements of the Sim Module design such as: logic signal transfer circuit using Mosfet, IC RS232 MAX232 communication, high current pulse source circuit, standard sim slot and signaling LEDs, the circuit also comes with GSM Antenna.

SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Using GSM GPRS Sim800A module.
  • Power supply input: 5 - 18VDC, greater than 1A.
  • Communication signal level: TTL (3.3-5VDC) or RS232.
  • Integrated high speed TTL Mosfet signal level
  • Integrated IC signal transfer level RS232 MAX232.
  • Integrated pulse source with high current for Sim800A.
  • Use Micro Sim slot.
  • Compact circuit design, durability, anti-interference.

Order of pins:

Header 1:

  • VCC: Positive source from 5-18VDC, greater than 1A
  • GND: Mass, 0VDC.
  • EN: The default connection is high, the function is to start (Enable) or stop (Disable) the Sim800 module, if you want the Sim800 module to stop working, you can connect this pin to GND (0VDC).
  • 232R: Chan received RS232 signal.
  • 232T: RS232 signal transmission pin
  • GND: Mass, 0VDC.
  • RXD: Chan receive TTL signal, accept 3.3 and 5VDC.
  • TXD: TTL signal pin, accept 3.3 and 5VDC.

Header 2:

  • BRXD: Usually not used, signal receiving pins, used to communicate to load Firmware for Sim800, signal level 3.3VDC.
  • BTXD: Usually not used, signal transfer pins, used to communicate to load Firmware for Sim800, signal level 3.3VDC.
  • GND: Mass, 0VDC.
  • EPN: Speakerphone audio output
  • EPP: Speaker speaker output positive.
  • MICP: Positive microphone input.
  • MICN: Negative Microphone Input.

To test the operation of the module, you can use the Microcontroller with UART communication or, best and fastest, use a switch from USB to UART and transmit AT commands directly from the computer.
